We survived our first trip around the sun with QCGifts.ca. This has been the fastest year to date, as we have been busy busy busy. In these 365 days, we have met and overcome challenges and also had many amazing moments. Here are a few highlights of our first year.
The point of opening QCGifts.ca was to bring balance into our home. We found that, for our family, both parents working full-time there was never enough time between work, the kids and chores to do anything extra, it was exhausting. Our goal for QCGifts.ca was to afford us flexibility and balance at home while generating income for our family. Having this flexibility has been wonderful, but if I am honest, the balance isn’t consistent yet. These first-year work weeks have been more than 40 hrs a week, but at least the work was during the times we want.
Another challenge has been building our website. Since we don’t have a bricks and mortar establishment, our website is KEY. The struggle has been updating it throughout the year as we evolved from offering themes premade, to now having customers pick their products. The learning curve has been steep and it is keeping us on our toes…the site is still a work in progress.
A few amazing moments we had that stand out this year that I am most grateful for are the Tulip Tea- Norah is our oldest, and she wanted to come and help at the tea. She was the star of the event. She helped serve tables, entertained guests with ballet, and also sold more than 30 tickets for the Val Moker Tulip Painting Draw to help Ukrainians! It was such a great day, with the best energy!
The Cathedral Arts Street Fair – this was our first pop-up event. We had so much support from our friends and family. We spent the day talking about our new business venture and all the ways we can help service the businesses and people of Regina. The weather was great and we left feeling re-energized and ready to take on new challenges and opportunities.
Today is a pretty amazing day. We started only 365 days ago with this idea, and now we made it into something! We have amazing customers whom we cherish and goals on how to build for the future. We are very thankful and grateful for all the support we have had this year!
We have one favor to ask- please fill out this two minute survey.⁉️🤔 It will help us to prepare for the year ahead, providing superb service to Saskatchewan.

Saskatchewan’s winter warmth isn’t just about temperature; it’s about community, preparation, and a little bit of prairie magic. From heated hallways to home hibernation, from starting seedlings to layering up for the outdoors, we’ve found ways to make winter work for us. So next time someone asks if Saskatchewan winters are too cold, we can smile, knowing we’ve discovered a unique warmth that goes beyond the thermostat.
