Prairie Lily and Prairie Valleys embroidered pillows on a cream sofa, featuring orange lilies and a colourful Saskatchewan river valley.

From the Greek Islands to the Saskatchewan Prairies! πŸ‡¬πŸ‡·πŸŒΎ

Sometimes the best product ideas come when you’re not even looking for them!

This summer, our family travelled to Greece, where we had the opportunity to explore a couple of beautiful islands. While wandering through the shops, I noticed something that caught my eye β€” gorgeous embroidered pillows featuring iconic Greek landmarks, including the famous blue-and-white architecture of Mykonos.

I loved how something as simple as a pillow could capture the character of a place and become a beautiful keepsake.

And naturally, my mind wandered back home to Saskatchewan.

We might not have the whitewashed buildings and blue-domed churches of the Greek islands, but we have some pretty incredible scenery of our

Pillow

Our rolling valleys, winding rivers, golden fields, endless skies, and of course, our beautiful Western Red Lily.

I started imagining how we could capture those landscapes and flowers in the same colourful, textured embroidery style.

And that’s how our newest embroidered pillow collection came to life!

Our first two designs celebrate the beauty of the Prairirs in very different ways:

🌸 Prairie Lily β€” A bold, colourful interpretation of the Saskatchewan provincial flower, with flowing shapes inspired by the natural beauty of the Prairies.

🌾 Prairie Valleys β€” Rolling green and golden hills, a winding river, and big prairie skies. A little reminder that it isn’t all flat.

I love bringing home inspiration from our travels and finding ways to give it a uniquely prairie twist.

These pillows are a little different from our usual products, but they represent exactly what QCGifts is about β€” celebrating the places, landscapes, and little details that make here special.

From Greece to the Prairies. Who would have thought? πŸ’™
