A project that QCGifts.ca is especially proud of has reached an important milestone this week. Over the past five months, we had the pleasure of watching Val Moker create Tyulpany (Tulip in English). This week she has completed the piece. To give you an appreciation of the work involved, we created this video. Val has been putting in countless hours meticulously painting this piece. Watch how a blank birch panel, evolved into an incredible painting.
Here is the best part, Val painted this to GIVE AWAY. You are probably asking yourself why, and this is what I am so proud of- she is doing this in support of a project, Momentum Café, QCGifts.ca, and herself started. As we were planning our Mother’s Day Tulip Tea at Momentum- we decided we wanted to help displaced Ukrainians. So we created this draw and started selling tickets.
Now that Val has completed the painting, it is my turn to spread the word and have people like you buy tickets. As many of you know, QCGift.ca is owned by Kathy Sabo, who was raised with strong Ukrainian roots. Her father, Ed Lysyk, being a Past President of UCC, instilled a strong sense of community and helped so many Ukrainians settle in Saskatchewan. If there was ever a time to continue the legacy, it is now.
So here is my ask- today skip buying lunch or pass on getting the new t-shirt you don’t really need, and instead, purchase a ticket to this cause. We can make a huge impact in people’s lives right here in our community. Buy your draw ticket today here.
