Squishims Slime brings the fun to QCGifts.ca
Building new business collaborations is something I love doing. I especially enjoy this when I can connect with someone like me. Squishims Slime, a small batch slime shop, is owned and operated by Kira a mother of four living here in Regina.
Kira understands the importance of keeping kids entertained and engaged. A house of busy boys led Kira to grow her passion for business and making slime. What started as a fun activity with her boys, has now grown into a full-blown home business where she is kept busy all of the time.
In addition to her slime creations, Kira includes little trinkets in each order to keep kids entertained for hours. She also offers custom stickers that match the theme of the slime, whether it be space or bubble gum, she has a ton of different options. You can tell she wants her slime to stand out. Whether she is trying a new smell, colour, sparkle combination, or sticker design, there are so many fun little details in each slime kit she makes with her boys.
What is the history behind slime? Let’s take a look.
Slime can be traced back to the 1970s. A toy called "Flubber" was popular among children. It was a rubbery substance that could be stretched and bounced, and it was often used to create practical jokes.
Later in the 1990s, Nickelodeon introduced a show called "Double Dare," which featured a segment called "Slime Time." The slime used on the show was a green, gooey substance made from vanilla pudding, applesauce, oatmeal, and green food coloring. Today, the versatility and popularity of slime suggest that it will continue to be a beloved pastime for many years to come.
Why do kids like slime?
Slime certainly has become a sensation among kids in recent years, and it's not hard to see why. Slime provides a unique tactile experience that many kids find satisfying. The squishy, stretchy texture can be both calming and stimulating. Additionally, making and playing with slime allows kids to explore their creativity and experiment with different colors, textures, and add-ins. In my home, it is a fun and engaging activity that can provide hours of entertainment.
It's evident that Kira puts a lot of effort and care into her business, despite also juggling the responsibilities of being a stay-at-home mom. It's inspiring to see someone turn their passion into a successful business venture, and Squishims Slime is a testament to her hard work.
