The year was 2003 when Marea and her cousins took a trip to Denman Island, BC. While exploring some amazing pottery studios, they stumbled upon one that operated on the honor system. This quirky, yet trusting setup left a lasting impression on Marea and fueled her passion for pottery. Fast forward to today, and Freba Pottery still operates on the honor system, with a highway sign inviting customers to stop in and make purchases through cash, checks, or e-transfers.
With all of her goals accomplished, Marea took the plunge and launched her own website for online orders in 2020. Prior to her full-time endeavor with pottery, Marea spent 25 years teaching art in schools before taking her pottery passion to the next level.
